Thinking back to 1985 seems like a long time ago to me, the things I was doing at the time, the clothes I was wearing, music, etc. One person that most influenced me in those early years of my life was Patsy Cline. I remember it well, the movie Sweet Dreams that is, it's what started my passion for Patsy. So here I am sitting in a UA theater, the movie has started, and all of a sudden I here Patsy's voice singing "San Antonio Rose", well let me say, that voice ringing so loudly from the theater speakers spoke volumes to me, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. After the movie, and wiping the tears, I was determined to find out everything I could on this Patsy Cline from the movie. I started to shop the local records stores, and found a good collection of her records. I started by buying the soundtrack from the movie, then moved up to showcase, wow what an album that was to have let me tell ya. The first time I played that was like heaven to my ears, Patsy and the instruments all in their original state. I continued to collect record after record, and didn't stop till the last one was sold in the very early 90's. then came the Internet, upon searching the web around 1996 I came across Per's website, wow was I blown away, here was an actual site about my favorite female singer. Finding this site and then seeing for the first time some very rare and new to me photo's was very exciting. It was at this time that I became friends with the one and only Jimmy Walker, I learned a great deal from him about Patsy, and also talked with him numerous times over the phone in those days. In fact I have met so many wonderful people through the Internet. By the late 90's I began to think back to my early liking for Patsy, and how fast time had gone by. The late 90's was an exciting time to be a Patsy Cline fan, new releases on CD, a few live very rare performances were released to the public, unlike anything I had seen before. A few yrs ago I met yet another great friend of mine Recliner Sean. I actually discovered his website on Patsy by accident while browsing the Internet. I was very intrigued by his site and his background and liking for the Cline. We eventually corresponded, and talked a lot about Patsy on the Internet and by phone. This past year I met Sean and Jimmy for the first time in Winchester, Va, for the Patsy Cline weekend event. What a privilege it was to meet them both, it was like a bunch of old friends getting together, we shared stories, and had many laughs. I had been to Winchester only one time before in the summer of 1997, and had a good time visiting, seeing the grave for the first time was very sad for me. Also more recently I had the privilege to meet Charlie Dick, Mildred Keith, and Anne Armstrong. Upon writing this, March 5 is just a day away, it's hard to believe that we will be marking 44 yrs since the passing of Patsy. I remember when I was thinking about the 22 yrs since her passing, wow how time flys, even so she sounds just as fresh and as exciting to me as she did way back in 1985. Patsy Cline's music will always be a part of my life, and it has helped me through the good and not so good times.  Shane
